NORDCENTER’S FIRST COURSE, designed by the American Ronald W. Fream, was opened in August 1988. The Fream course was an innovation in the Finnish course architecture and it instantly became the flagship of courses, both as regards the construction and the general setting. The most unforgettable characteristic of the Fream course is the varied terrain with its great elevation differences and superi-or scenery. The course winds along the lush seaside, the forest upland with extreme elevation differences, and then descends back to the old parkland of the manor. Almost all teeing grounds, fairways and greens were renewed in the reno vation that began in August 2007. The aim was, however, to keep the characteristics of the Fream course as close to the original as possible. To ensure this the original architect has actively participated in the renewal of the course.
